“ The Dance Academy is in the King Sooper plaza off of County Line Road at S Holly Street ”

The first hour (from 7:00 to 8:00 PM) will consist of basic "East Coast" Swing Dance lessons. You will learn and practice the basic footwork, the basic dance positions, and a number of the basic steps. ($10.00 per person).

The next two or three hours will be time to dance with all the other swing dance lovers who choose to come out. We will start with meetings on the fourth Saturday of each month. If the number of people attending these events increases enough, we will schedule more. ($10.00 per person - unless you have taken the swing dance lesson earlier the same night. If you paid for the lesson, you get to dance for no further charge.)

Note: The charge helps to cover insurance, the cost to use the Dance Academy facility, and other overhead costs (including the expense required to run the Meetup group).

    Carlos says that this was the best event he's had so far, which is great to hear. Me, Wes, our dance partners Sarah and Jillian, and two of Wes' friends came as a group and had a fun dance night and get-together with Carlos and his partner. It was a little like the small, early-ending, but engagingly friendly dance Wes and I had in August of last year when the Saturday Night Swing Dance (the dance we run) moved to its current location. I hope we can come to more of these in the future!

    Wow - Thanks to everyone who came out to the event. It was a lot of fun to dance together. We all went to the Japanese restaurant called Miyami's on Yosemite near Park Meadows Drive and had a great experience watching the chef do his cooking magic at the table. It really was great fun.

    Sorry, cannot make the dance next Saturday, due to Argentine Tango Memorial Day celebrations. Hope (plan) to make these dances in June,, though. Meanwhile, have fun!

    Sounds like great fun. Among other things, I'll have opportunity to learn the differences between English swing or jitterbug, and American version. There are some differences, and I've been having some difficulty with the American version for a while now. (It's worse than the international tango vs. the American tango!)
